The screenplay is written by Jeffery Hatcher and is directed by Saul Dibb.

Welsh actor Matthew Rhys has claimed that he's a better kisser than Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley.


The 33-year-old actor, who had to lock lips with the two stunning actresses for his role as Welsh poet Dylan Thomas in the movie 'The Edge of Love', said he was most impressed by his own smooching skills. When asked who was the best kisser in the movie, Matthew said: "Me of course! We decided that by referendum. It came out unanimous."


Miller's hot romance with Rhys Ifans allegedly imploded because of the 'Notting Hill' star's jealousy over the actress' close friendship with Matthew. But Matthew denies romance blossomed on set, insisting he would never date a co-star.


"There has been a lot more speculation about the whole thing than actual fact," the China Daily quoted him, as saying. "On set romances are the worst idea in the world. You get caught up in the microcosm of filming, especially if you're playing romantic parts, and I'm only speaking from my own experience here, but it never really pans out afterwards," he added.

SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS has been confirmed as the latest actor to play KING LEAR in a big screen adaptation of SHAKESPEARE's great tragedy. American newcomer Josh Michael Stern has assembled an all-star cast for the ambitious film, which will start shooting in Britain or Ireland early next year (09).


Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts and Kiera Knightley will play the tragic king's three daughters, and director Stern insists there will be many more suitable big-name surprises in his blockbuster.


He says, "It's going to be really good... The one thing that I'm staying away from is stunt casting, so there won't be the American comedian, but there will be some really great actors playing smaller roles that will make a lot of sense."


Stern also plans to stick to Shakespeare's dialogue in the film in a bid to make sure the movie is as authentic as possible: "I'm not very fond of the modern adaptations... It's pre-Roman, Celtic, very raw.


"It's a period in British history, from which (Lord of The Rings author) Tolkien took a lot of his inspiration, where there were thatched-roof roundhouses and fortresses."


Stern's new Lear will give Hopkins the chance to revisit a character that won him acclaim on stage - the Oscar winner played the king in revered playwright David Hare's King Lear production at the National Theatre in London in the late 1980s. The director adds, "Hopkins is thrilled."

Bosses on beloved British TV series MIDSOMMER MURDERS are desperate to sign up superstars KEIRA KNIGHTLEY and SHARON STONE in a bid to add some Hollywood spice to the long-running show.


The show's producers are keen to entice Hollywood actresses and other big names in showbusiness to ignite new interest in the quaint ITV1 drama.
The programme, which stars U.K. veteran actor John Nettles, already has one superstar fan - Johnny Depp is reportedly hooked on the series after catching it on TV while filming in the U.K.


And the show's boss, Brian True-May, is eager to sign up some high profile actors - insisting he would love to "murder" Basic Instinct star Stone in an over-the-top scene.


He says, "I would just love to murder her. Sharon would be wonderful. She is beautiful and it would be edgy, over-the-top casting." And the producer has his eyes cast in the direction of British beauty Knightley, saying, "Keira would be perfect. She is so delicate and lovely, she would make the perfect killer, it would be so unexpected and so against character and, let's face it, we wouldn't want to throw away such beauty as a murder victim."

Keira Knightley has no problem going nude in front of the camera. The 23-year-old actress was happy to whip her bra off during a sex scene with Cillian Murphy in ‘The Edge of Love’.


She said: "It was very simple. It was a sex scene and I never like them when they've got bras on. So when asked I said, ‘alright then’." This isn’t the first time Keira has stripped off in a movie. The British star previously filmed steamy scenes for ‘Domino’ and ‘Atonement’.


While the actress is happy to bare her flesh on the big screen, she is terrified of singing in front of the cameras. Keira, who has previously spoken about her reluctance to sing in ‘The Edge of Love’, is set to receive singing lessons for the role of Eliza Doolittle in the remake of ‘My Fair Lady’.


The actress is determined her vocal abilities will be in tip-top shape when she belts out the movie’s classic songs, including ‘The Rain In Spain’ and ‘Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?’.

Keira says she never gets asked out on a date. The 23-year-old actress – who is dating her ‘Pride and Prejudice’ co-star Rupert Friend – insists she is never approached by prospective lovers, and wouldn’t even notice if she was.


She said: “I never get chatted up. Honestly, I don’t! And I’m so stupid that I wouldn’t even realise if I was. I sometimes get a look but that’s about it!”


Later in an interview with BBC Radio 1, Keira’s ‘Edge of Love’ co-star Sienna Miller - who stars with her in the new biopic of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas - revealed she threw her across a room while shooting the movie.


Sienna said: “I was filming this scene where I was on top of Matthew Rhys, who played Dylan Thomas, and Keira had to come and pull me off. But she literally ended up throwing me halfway across the room!”


Keira added: “I just don’t know my own strength!”
