"I didn't want to go all young and innocent. I thought, "Fuck it, it's the Oscars, might as well get dressed up". It's all about the arse with that Vera Wang fishtail dress! It was so tight it made walk in a very strange way, but when else are you going to wear something like that""
"The Vera Wang dress wasn't the one I thought I was going to wear, but it was the first one I tried on and I just loved it and that was it. It was so over-the-top that you felt you could never wear it for anything but the Oscars. I was trying to go subtle, but it's the Oscars—why would you try and go subtle?"

Her minaudière contained "Wet wipes just in case I dropped anything down myself, and tit tape—-because I had a tit drama at a New York premiere and I didn't want to repeat that! Insoles for my shoes . . . and some lipstick. Oh, and my passport because you can't get into the Oscars without having photo I.D.!"
"The necklace was just so attractive, it was also so tight that when I took it off it looked like someone had been trying to garrote me! I had a horrible ring around my neck!"

Her makeup artist, Kate Lee, said she wanted to create an “iconic and classic” look for Keira. Lee said she used steel and charcoal Chanel eye colours but otherwise used a light touch to reflect Knightley’s young age.

"This is Valentino. I went for whit because Golden Globes are supposed to be less dressy than the Oscars, so it was less statement than black. It was filthy by the end of the night - the red carpet moulted and fluff was stuck to the bottom of the dress. And people kept spilling drinks over me"

"I was extremely self-conscious about it. I was about three times bigger after King Arthur, and it was actually really difficult to lose. I was sort of at the height of my muscle thing at the Love Actually premiere. I was desperate to wear this beautiful gold '50s-style Prada dress, and I couldn't fit into it at all. I couldn't find anything that fit. I ended up wearing a beautiful corset top that my brother's girlfriend made me and my black trousers."
